NEW - ONLINE CLASS - Introduction to Sashiko Stitching

Michelle will introduce you to the traditional stitching technique of Sashiko. Michelle first fell in love with this decorative stitching while living in Japan. This 3 hour workshop will introduce you to what Sashiko is, how to use a needle and thimble, the correct physical posture for effective stitching and how to transfer a Sashiko motif to fabric. We will then start stitching your first sample piece!

A minimum of 5 participants is required for this class to proceed.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: No Sewing Knowledge is required.
Requirements: A Supply list will be sent out and we will offer kits for purchase.
Instructor: Michelle Peters
Instructor Bio: Michelle is the passionate owner of Watergirl Quilt Co. She was an elementary school teacher for 25 years, quilter for over 30 years and loves to see others experience the joy of success! Michelle lived in Japan for 6 years and is a big fan of all Japanese arts.
