Fall Into Sewing Virtual Retreat - September 23rd - 25th on Zoom

Looking for quilting fun and friendship? Look no further!

Watergirl Quilt Co and Dragons Heart Quilt Shop are back again for our 4th virtual retreat, uniting quilters from the East and the West.

Stay in the comfort of your home or meet up in one home with a few of your local quilting friends, login to Zoom and enjoy sewing, learning and building friendships with other quilters from near and far away.  Oh, and no lugging of all your supplies either!

Let's celebrate the changing of the seasons and "fall into sewing" again, together.

Our team of Susan Madu, Lynn Brasnett and Michelle Peters will teach you how to make 2 adventurous beginner friendly projects to refresh your autumn decor plus we will have a fun "mystery activity" that will teach you a new technique for using up your stash.

The Simple Stripped Table Runner designed and taught by Susan Madu of Modern Blended Quilt, is the feature project of the retreat. This 3 hour project incorporates half square triangle blocks (HST's), how to construct the runner and quilt it while using the quilt-as-you-go method and lastly, Susan will demonstrate how to square up a quilt before binding it. You can quickly make a table runner for every season!

You will also learn to make a patchwork potholder using charm squares or push yourself a little further and join Lynn to learn how to adapt the pattern to turn it into a Maple Leaf block instead by adding in Half Square Triangle blocks and inserting a stem. You choose what you prefer.

Just to add in some mystery, Michelle will ask you to join in an activity to learn a technique that you can then use to create all kinds of quilt projects. Oh, did we mention that it blows through your scraps and stash?
