Vegan Shopper Bag - on ZOOM
Join Michelle; owner of Watergirl Quilt Co on ZOOM and start your bag making journey by making your Vegan Leather Shoppers tote bag from start to finish. This class is a hybrid offering; both in person and over zoom. This class will NOT be recorded.
NOTE: ZOOM participants, please allow enough time to have supply kit delivered by Canada Post or picked up at store prior to class
This project features pre-cut pieces, a sophisticated look, and easy zipper installation. Sew this quality tote as you learn about some features for bag-making such as recommended needles, tips on how to sew with leather, some machine features and more.
Required materials:
Vegan Shopper Tote Bag kit (included in class price; valued at $118.) This kit comes in the red / burgundy colour and includes pre-cut pieces of vegan leather made in Italy, double sided tape and zipper needed to complete this project.
You will also need to bring:

- Polyester sewing thread in burgundy, dark red click here to see our matching polyester thread on our website
Sewing and Quilting supplies
- sewing machine in working order
- rotary cutter
- seam ripper
- fabric clips; so you don't make holes in your vegan leather
- long ruler 6" x 24"
- scissors
- walking or if you have a BERNINA with dual feed 1D
Please note that if you do not have a Bernina sewing machine, you will need to bring all your presser feet with you and determine which is similar to the Bernina foot 1 or walking foot.
The instructions for assembly are included in the kit.
This kit is only available in red.
Our classroom offers you the use of our
- iron
- ironing board
- cutting mats.
For your comfort, some of our individual sewing tables are mechanical Sit / Stand desks.
Complimentary coffee and tea will be available in our kitchenette. Please bring a travel mug or sealed cup to avoid any spillage.
Machine rental is available, however quantities are limited. Call the store directly for details and / or to book.
Cancellation of Classes or Retreats
Should you decide to cancel your registration for an event, class or retreat, you will receive a full credit to a gift card as long as the cancellation is made more than 2 weeks prior to the class date. After that time, you will forfeit your full registration fee.
If you are unable to attend, you do have the option of finding your own replacement participant but Watergirl Quilt Co. will not assist with this or give any fee credit to the original participant. You would be required to email us the name and contact information of your replacement.
