Quilts for Enterprise NWT - Charity Sewing Event In Person
Sandra McMaster is currently the Deputy Mayor of Enterprise. She is originally from Prescott, is a fellow quilter and is a member of our extended Watergirl crew.
Already Sandra has donated quilts she had and is busy sewing more. She has 8 ready to be quilted and hopes that her long armer's home has been spared. She has put a call out to the quilting family for more.
Watergirl Quilt Co, would like to coordinate a few volunteer sew days to help with the efforts in providing a "quilt hug" to those during this time of need and rebuilding.
We are looking for volunteers to make quilts using the same pattern; which will be provided upon registration. Susan Madu of Modern Blended Quilts has graciously allowed us to use of her pattern "Two Strip Wonder"
We encourage everyone people to use their own fabrics to make the quilts look unique or you may purchase a fabric kit from Watergirl Quilt Co. for $60. Fabric Kit
The fabric and cutting requirements are as follows:
**** this would be a great way to reduce your stash ****
Watergirl Quilt Co is aiming to have completed quilts ready to be shipped to Sandra in Enterprise, NWT by the end of October.
As a thank you for attending this sewing day, receive 10% off storewide, excluding Bernina and Bernette products. Shopping discount is only available on the Quilts for Enterprise sew day.
We ask that you plan to quilt the project. We will donate use of our longarm if you would like to try quilting straight lines or a simple meander yourself. Alternatively, you are welcome to make other arrangements to complete the quilt. Longarm quilting will NOT take place on the same day as sewing. We will have you book a time to quilt.
