BOM - Block of the Month - Contrasts Sampler ON ZOOM (Registration is now closed)

Join this 10 month program.

This year's Block of the Month's theme is "contrast".  Each month Susan will demonstrate the blocks using a modified traditional grid layout. You may choose to make your quilt the Minimalist version such as this:

or use print fabrics to create a Maximalist version such as this example:

Your finished quilt will 56" x 72". 

Each class will normally take place on the first Saturday of the Month beginning in February 2024 with the final month in November 2024. Classes are on Zoom, from 11am - 1pm EST and are recorded for future viewing for a limited time.

Each month, 3 to 7 blocks will be constructed using a new technique. Some months will include a block variation and/or a complementary block.

Square2  (large or small version)

Acorn Easy Press Pen (also available in kits) & Fabric Marker
6" x 24" OR 8 1/2" x 24" ruler
rotary cutter
fabric marker
4-6 sheets of 8 1/2" x 11" freezer paper
50 wt thread for piecing
pressing bar is helpful, but not required

There will be zoom link for months 1 - 5 and another for months 6 - 10. 

Registration and payment
You have the options for registering and payment for these classes
1. pay "in full" by clicking on the "add to cart" button
2. break down payment in two parts based on Month 1 -5 and Month 6 - 10.  
To take advantage of the second option, you must contact our store directly and someone there will be happy to make the arrangements with you.

Cancellation of or Retreats
Should you decide to cancel your registration for an event, class or retreat, you will receive a full credit to a gift card as long as the cancellation is made more than 2 weeks prior to the class date. After that time, you will forfeit your full registration fee.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: This class is for the confident beginner/intermediate quilter who wants to hone their skills to be more accurate and broaden their bank of quilting techniques.
Materials Included: PDF pattern in monthly instalments sent via email.
Instructor: Susan Madu
Instructor Bio: Susan is a retired chartered accountant and a passionate creator and quilter. She is never without a sketchbook or some project in her hands. Susan designs and teaches under the "Modern Blended Quilts" banner. A central theme of her patterns is blending together elements of traditional and modern quilting. Take your traditional stash and blend it up modern with modern textures, solids and styles for stunning results.
Includes PDF pattern, demonstration class via Zoom each month which will be recorded for you to view.
