Night at the Quilt Shop - 2 day Retreat (in person) at Watergirl Quilt Co.
This 2 day (overnight) retreat is hosted by Michelle and her team. Let's dig out those projects waiting to be finished or started! Being in a room full of quilters is energizing and who knows what happens at night in the quilt shop!
What's an overnight stay without a Pajama party? Join Maureen on Saturday in making Pajama bottoms using Thread Theory's Edison pajama bottom pattern.
What's required to participate in the pajama making for the PJ party night:
- Thread Theory pattern Eastwood pattern; available in printed format for $27 Click here to purchase on our website.
- pre-washed fabric for pajama bottoms
- option of buying a pre-made template (on Pellon Easy Pattern) in your requested size and style (contact the shop by email or phone a least 1 week prior to retreat) $25.00
Saturday, February 24th
- Sew all day from 9:30 a.m. until whenever.
- Welcome loot bag
- 10:00 Welcome game with a prize.
- Pajama making
- Enjoy morning snacks. Lunch will be served in the classroom, eat at your sewing spot.
- 5:30 p.m. (approximately) Pizza and salad dinner will be a group meal served. Participants are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages (alcohol may not be open until after store closure at 4:30 p.m.)
- After dinner game: Fat Quarter Game (bring 3 FQs to participate or purchase some before the game)
- Shananigans
- continue sewing to your heart's content.

Included in this retreat is a room at the Zens Inn (under new ownership). This is a bed and breakfast style, single traveller rooms with shared bathrooms. Very modern and is within walking distance to our store.
You will be provided with a code to enter the Inn anytime after 3 p.m. on the Saturday.
Security is available all night long to escort you back and forth between the shop and the Inn; if you so wish. You will have access to the classroom from (9:30 a.m. on Saturday until 4 p.m. Sunday)
Sunday, February 25th
- Continental breakfast available at the Inn.
- Sew all day until 4:00 p.m.
- Enjoy morning snacks. Lunch will be served in the classroom; eat at your sewing spot.
- Work on your own projects.
- 3 p.m. Wrap up with Show & Tell at 3pm. You may bring projects to show or show what you worked on during retreat, or both!
NOTE: Lunch and dinner meals included in registration fee. Vegetarian and Gluten Free options are available. All participants will be contacted 2 - 3 weeks prior to event to confirm such dietary requirements
In our classroom at Watergirl Quilt Co, you will be able to enjoy the use of our
- tables; our individual sewing tables are mechanical Sit / Stand desks.
- chairs; for added comfort, bring a seat cushion if you have one
- iron and ironing boards
- cutting mats on large table for cutting
- cutting mat at your workstation
Complimentary coffee and tea will be available in our kitchenette. Please bring a travel mug or sealed cup to avoid any spillage. Tap water is drinkable.
Don't feel like bringing your machine with you? Rental machines are available (limited quantity at special retreat pricing of $40 for the 2 days of use. This is also a great way to try something new. Please contact our store directly to confirm current pricing and availability.
Store opens at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. You may enter via the main door of the store or if someone is in the classroom they can open the classroom door to make it easier to bring your things in.
So are you in for some self care time? Come on your own or with friends. Pick a project or 2 or 3 and pack your sewing tote and your sewing machine, for 2 days of fun. Let us feed you and inspire you for a weekend of quilting fun and the quilt store at night shenanigans!
Overnight parking
Zenn's inn has dedicated parking spots and they happen to be in the same lot as our store. Cars are safe there overnight.
Limited parking spots are available in the parking lot at store level. Please refer to signage to ensure you are NOT parked in a spot that is designated for resident parking. Free long term town parking is available on the river side of our building, to the east. There is no parking allowed on the Water Street. E-chargers are available within the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot.
NOTE: there is time limit for the parking in the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot
Cancellation of Classes or Retreats
Should you decide to cancel your registration for an event, class or retreat, you will receive a full credit to a gift card as long as the cancellation is made more than 2 weeks prior to the class date. After that time, you will forfeit your full registration fee.
If you are unable to attend, you do have the option of finding your own replacement participant but Watergirl Quilt Co. will not assist with this or give any fee credit to the original participant. You would be required to email us the name and contact information of your replacement.
