Up Styled Jackets with Susan Madu of Modern Blended Quilts via Zoom

In search of a jean jacket that reflects your personal style? Learn to customize your jacket by swapping out denim for cotton fabrics on the collar and cuffs.
This workshop is all you need to take your jean jacket and make it unique.
- how to create freezer paper templates to cut a feature cotton for the collar and cuffs of your jacket.
- turned-edge applique method to make statement collars and cuffs
So dig out your old jackets or drop by the second hand shops and get up-cyling to make a stunning jean jacket that everyone will notice!
Supplies:
- jean jacket or other garment (should be pre washed prior to class)
- stabilizer (Steam a Seam) 3/4j yard of 12"
- threads (50 wt or finer) to match your print fabric
- hand sewing needles
- freezer paper (by the roll or package - for printer or individual sheet) - approximately 1 yd
- fabric (dependant on garment size) - FQ - 1/2 yard (1 yard with optional print front placket); allow for directional fabric or fussy cutting.
- Thread gloss Maple Syrup- Sew Fine Thread Gloss - 579038 (watergirlquiltco.com)
- chalk marker or other fabric markers
- Fray check (for cuffs with snaps)

- iron and ironing board (wool pressing mat recommended by instructor
Cancellation of Classes or Retreats
Should you decide to cancel your registration for an event, class or retreat, you will receive a full credit to a gift card as long as the cancellation is made more than 2 weeks prior to the class date. After that time, you will forfeit your full registration fee.
If you are unable to attend, you do have the option of finding your own replacement participant but Watergirl Quilt Co. will not assist with this or give any fee credit to the original participant. You would be required to email us the name and contact information of your replacement.

Susan designs and teaches under the "Modern Blended Quilts" banner. A central theme of her patterns is blending together elements of traditional and modern quilting. Take your traditional stash and blend it up modern with modern textures, solids and styles for stunning results. |
