Linzee Kull McCray comes to fabric design from a checkered past: among other things, she’s been a bookstore clerk, worked at a botanical garden, and taught childbirth education to expectant parents.
After 13 years as a writer and editor for the University of Iowa, Linzee turned her focus to topics dear to her heart: textiles, craft, and art. Following the publication of her book, Feed Sacks: The Colourful History of a Frugal Fabric, she was delighted when Moda asked her to create a line of feed-sack inspired fabrics. Linzee adores the thousands of different prints and colorways of the original feed sacks, but also deeply admires the resilience and resourcefulness of the women who used them to stitch curtains, dresses, diapers, dishtowels, and so much more.
